Things we did up through today:

Forums added

Built many, many forums. If you like the topics, super. If you don't like the topics, start a thread in the feedback forum.

You've been egged

We added some Easter Eggs to the site. They're not that hard to find. There will be more.

Uploaded styles

There are four of these now. They can be found in the bottom, left-hand corner of your window.

By using that menu you can get some different color options. If you want to make some and know how, do so and we'll consider adding those. If you don't know how, wait a while and we might make some more. If you want some specific color schemes, make a thread in the feedback forum. We probably won't make any more for a while, but you can let us know so that when we do make more we have that information to act on.

Added strikethrough font

We don't know why, but people seem to love this font. It can be activated by using [s]tickle[/s] tags around what you want to type. You can also use the buttons we installed which will appear in the top, right-hand side of your post creation editor if you use the advanced posting mode.

Added Youtube tags:

People love Youtube, so we made buttons and programmed the boards to help you post it.

Just highlight the link to the Youtube clip you want to show and hit the button that looks like the old Youtube logo. It can be found in the post creation editor if you use the advanced posting mode.

Set forum permissions

You care, but you probably don't care about the details. We did a lot of testing for this. This was hard. This took a lot of time. If you see something that you have a question about, open a thread in the feedback forum. It's entirely possible we missed something. It's entirely possible you don't have a permission you should have, and it's possible you have a permission you shouldn't have.

Just said no

These boards have a ton of features, bells and whistles. This software is expensive though, and these boards are out of date. Many of the features of this software were hacked after they were initially created. The people who built the program did a great job of patching it, but because it costs a fair bit of coin to update a license, we do not have access to the most recent version of the program. As a result, many of the features that are associated with this software that are not critical to the functionality of the community are turned off. If you want to discuss these features, start a thread in the feedback forum.

Things we did today:

Adjusted Announcements
It was not possible for moderators to post threads in the Announcements forum. This defeats the purpose of the Announcements forum. Moderators can now post in the Announcements forum.

Tested New User PMs
When your account is registered or created, a PM is automatically generated and sent to your account. It has what we hope are helpful instructions and a warm welcome.

Creation of User Accounts
Began working on the user accounts.

Troubleshot mobile
Tested the boards and how they interact with mobile devices. It's not perfect, but it should work.

Updated welcome private message
Changed the verbiage, added links. If the links aren't parsing (appearing correctly and working correctly) please let someone know.

Made mods findable
Adjusted usergroup settings so that moderators would show up on the Forum Leaders page.

Warm welcomes
Posted a welcome thread to make you all aware of what this account is used for and why it's here since it will be doing strange things from time to time.

Killed quick editing
Turned off the quick editor for posts because it was not playing nice with either Chrome or Firefox, which is the majority of people and we didn't want to have to answer all the problems that went along with it that we could not fix. The updated version of these boards does not have that problem, but this is not the most current version of these boards.

Users
Added a few users to the boards.

Trainer
Built a trainer for the moderators to use to learn how things work.

Editor Issues
Fixed an error that caused the post editor to not road the correct version of the editor per the user's choice in their control panel.

Cleaning
Cleaned up some loose threads and forums since people are coming in now.

Made a Science and Tech forum.

Updated colors
We changed some of the color choices made for fonts on the boards to give it more contrast. If you have any issues with the colors and have checked to make sure it's not just your monitor or settings, please let us know.

Permissions
Cleaned up some moderator permissions. Not that they'll see much use for a while.

Prognostication

A forum has been created where people can make predictions. It's the Prediction forum.

We set the calendar so that those who do not have an account can see it now. The same is now true for those that have accounts but aren't logged in.
